Thanks, Jeannie, for sharing the link to the new Fox behind the scenes Bones video "Deep in the Institute." I don't see any Youtube version yet on their channel or otherwise. It explains how they do some effects work, especially in the 'Egyptian Room."

During the broadcast of the Minnesota vs. Ohio State college football game last weekend, ESPN analyst Bob Griese put his foot in his mouth. While promoting an upcoming NASCAR event, a graphic was shown listing the drivers.
When Griese's fellow broadcast Chris Spielman questioned why NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya wasn't on the list, Griese replied that he was "out having a taco."
Oops! ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz has announced that Bob Griese has been suspended for a week. Griese has apologized for the ill-attempt at humor. Krulewitz revealed that ESPN had spoken to Griese and "he understands the comment was inappropriate."

Add to myYahoo!Well, I guess Adam Sandler is ready to go back to his old tricks after playing it straight in Funny People: the actor has signed on to play both Jack and Jill in the upcoming romantic comedy called - you guessed it - Jack and Jill. The movie will be produced by Sandler's company, Happy Madison.
The image of Adam Sandler as a woman is already giving me a bad taste in my mouth about this project. I love Sandler and his wacky sense of humor, but playing a pair of siblings sounds too immature even for him. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that he's not veering towards a career like Eddie Murphy's. What about you guys - are you excited to see Sandler in drag or is he getting too old for this stuff?

Of course Don Draper reveals his "true self" in the Halloween episode. While kids are walking around in costume, Don finally drops his disguise and reveals his past to Betty. Dick Whitman was a different guy, and he wore different clothes: Checked shirts with room in the sides to show a young man who didn't always get enough to eat; pants worn through to the knee and a little bit too short. In the case of creating Don Draper, it seems clothes really did help make the man.
Accordingly, every character's outfit really stuck to their archetype this time around. Joan's deep blue dress offsets both her hourglass figure and her flaming red hair. In Episode 11, her hair reflects not just her sex appeal but also her rage when she deftly smashes a flower vase on Greg. Peggy's pussy bow is thinner and more wilted than ever, a sign of her withering will at work (of course, her affair with Duck Phillips contributes to that too, but this blog is limited to sartorial choices, so we'll leave that alone). And Betty Draper strips herself bare -- white cardigan, ponytail, no makeup -- and reveals, out loud to another person, that her husband is not who she wants him to be.

Entering into its fourth season (and second since the NBC/DirecTV deal), Friday Night Lights is a show in transition on numerous levels. The high school football drama returns tonight to DirecTV's 101 Network at 9 p.m. ET (NBC won't air this season until next summer) and for fans of the show, it's an episode they've long been waiting for.
Ever since the season three finale, as Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) and his wife Tami (Connie Britton) stepped on to the East Dillon Lions decrepit football field, Eric's new home, the tension has been at an all time high in Dillon, Texas. How can Coach Taylor, a man whom many consider to be a high school football wunderkind, start from scratch with a team that doesn't even exist yet?
