Kara DioGuardi Gets Her Own Idol

First Paula Abdul gets her own show, now Kara DioGuardi.

JustJared.com is reporting that the former American Idol judge will be taking on a new project with singer, Jewel. They've developed their own Bravo series called Going Platinum, a singer-songwriter competition that will follow 12 musicians as they write and perform songs in a variety of genres. Only the judges will be able to rank contestants, so the at-home viewers will have to sit out on this one. Jewel will serve as the host, while DioGuardi will act as lead judge. The winner will receive a $100,000 cash price, a publishing deal with Sony and a recording contract.

Review - Castle Season 3 Episode 6 3XK

Aside from the sometimes lackluster plots, my biggest problem with Castle is that nothing stands out. I can't point to a single scene which was very emotional or thought provoking. The shows rolls along at a good pace, never slowing down enough to grab the nuisances in the middle of the investigation.

"3XK" has a few above-average confrontations with Beckett taking Gates head-on without Castle in the room before Beckett squeezes him about his brother and he crumbles. As far as everyone is concerned, it's the end of the case. However, it's actually his cellmate that is the killer.

The problem with final twists on procedurals is that viewers can always look at the clock. Too much time remaining and they know something is up; too little time and there is no twists. "3XK" skirts the edge of that boundary and I had an idea that something would happen, so it wasn't a complete shock. Still, Jerry is out there and will have to be caught at a later time.

Score: 8.7/10

Numbers of Interest - Television Ratings for
Monday 10/25/10

ABC won with Dancing with the Stars (4.3) and Castle (2.9). Castle above Hawaii Five-0!

CBS was second with How I Met Your Mother (3.2), Rules of Engagement (3.0), Two and a Half Men (4.4), Mike & Molly (3.7), and Hawaii Five-0 (2.8). See above. CBS has to be queasy. CSI: Miami was consistently beating Castle last year. Then again, it had a bigger lead-in.

NBC was third with Chuck (1.9), The Event (2.0), and Chase (1.3). NBC must be feeling uneasy about Chase's still dropping ratings, given that they gave it a whole season last week.

Fox was last with a repeat of House (1.4) and a new episode of Lie to Me (1.6). Horrible numbers for Lie to Me.

Tonight The CW is rerunning the season two premiere episode of Life Unexpected, "Ocean Uncharted", but that doesn't mean I'm taking the week off from offering all of the fans something new for the beloved sleeper series! 'Southland' Cast Ramps Up for Season 3

To kick off the week and celebrate 'Southland' going back into production this Thursday in L.A., TNT hosted a cocktail party for select TV critics and journalists to mingle with the 'Southland' cast.

The overall consensus: everyone is ready to be back at work.

The cast and producers were all very tight-lipped about what's in store for season 3 of their critically-acclaimed, network-shuffled show (premieres January 2011), but they were very chatty regarding just about everything else.

Monsters are not supposed to scare adults. Serial killers, gangs, torture, guns, sickness, terrorism and crippling bankruptcy are the things meant to scare us.

Joy Behar Calls Sharron Angle a 'Bitch,' Says
She's 'Going to Hell' (VIDEO)

Tuesday on 'The View' (weekdays, ABC), the ladies discussed a political ad that Sharron Angle, the Republican Senate candidate in Nevada, is running that attacks Harry Reid on illegal immigration. The ad uses mugshots of Hispanic-looking young men in a way that critics say stokes racial fears.

As you can imagine, the discussion got pretty heated, and Joy Behar ended up going a bit berserk.

"I'd like to see (Angle) do this ad in the South Bronx," Behar exclaimed. "Come here bitch. Come to New York and do it."
