The Vampire Diaries "Do Not Go Gentle": The Good,
The Bad, and The Bloody

It's time for the Decades Dance on this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, and while there's a different theme ('20s) from years past, there's just as much danger at this year's dance. Esther is on the rampage and trying to make Alaric into a vampire super-killer, but there's more intrigue on the romantic side of things when Elena decides to take Stefan as her date.

There's a bit of romance for lots of characters, but it everyone is too focused on Alaric's fate to figure out their relationship status. There's lots to discuss, including the twist at the end, so let's get to the good, the bad, and the bloody after the jump.[break]

Pawnee Debate Goes Long: Watch An Extended 'Parks
and Rec'

This week's episode of "Parks and Recreation" is one of the most enjoyable of the NBC comedy's fourth season, and it's about to expand.

The Huffington Post can exclusively reveal that "Parks and Rec's" creative team has cooked up a longer cut of "The Debate" that will go live some time after 10 p.m. E.T. on the show's home page. It contains six minutes of additional content, so if the debate among Leslie Knope, Bobby Newport and some of Pawnee's more eccentric citizens floats your boat, why not give the director's cut another go-round? We'll also be sure to embed it here as soon as we can.

Thursday's episode was written and directed by star Amy Poehler, who, along with executive producer Michael Schur, talked about the show's politics in this recent story.

Laura Prudom: 'American Idol' Elimination: Who
Fell 'Under Pressure' During Queen Week

It was a hit and miss week on "American Idol," as the remaining contestants tackled the music of Queen and another song of their choice. Elise and Skylar both nailed the Queen round, but stumbled during the artists' choice, while Jessica and Hollie found their footing with more recent hits after floundering with the '70s rockers' catalog. But who rocked us, and who seemed "under pressure"?

The next contestant to be eliminated was ...

Elise Testone.

It's a testament to Elise's distinctive, bluesy tone that she managed to survive far longer in the competition than I expected she would (even though she deserved to make it the whole way). But like Phillip Phillips and Heejun Han, the "Idol" machine never seemed like a perfect fit for her graveled, soulful authenticity. She's not marketable enough to be an "Idol," but she's certainly talented enough to become a successful artist in her own right. I'll miss her unique take on songs, but this wasn't a game she could win. She was joined in the bottom three by Hollie Cavanagh (probably the next in line to be eliminated) and Skylar Laine.

The episode was padded by the usual filler performances, including something called "The Queen Extravaganza," a tribute band handpicked by Queen drummer Roger Taylor, boasting a lead singer who both looks and sounds eerily like a reincarnated Freddie Mercury -- I was surprisingly impressed. Sadly, that was followed up by a decidedly less impressive song from Season 10's Stefano (who apparently no longer has a last name), and a shaky single from Katy Perry.

Do you think that America made the right choice? Are you sad to see Elise go? Weigh in below!

"American Idol" airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.

Tonight's TV Talk: 'Community', 'The Vampire
Diaries', '30 Rock', 'Parks and Recreation'...

TV Talk for Thursday, April 26th 2012Community (NBC, 8pm) - S3, Ep14: "Basic Lupine Urology" - I just want to put this out there: I hate Law & Order. I find it repetitive and these days, reaching-- always trying to "top" themselves with crazy twists on the cases. So I had a special soft spot in my heart for the fact that Community was going to spoof (yes, I said spoof-- I choose to
