"It's America, Chuck. Everyone has a choice." - John CaseyIf there's one single theme for this season of NBC's Chuck it would be appear to be identity. How do we define ourselves? How do we let others define us? Does it matter whether Chuck is a spy, an asset, or a civilian? If you take John Casey out of the espionage world, is he still Casey? And are we more defined by the actions we take or those that we don't?This week's episode of Chuck ("Chuck Versus the Final Exam"), written by Zev Borow and directed by Robert Duncan McNeil, brought these issues to the forefront of the series, posing several questions about the way in which our three central spies see themselves in reference to the rest of the world and the way in which they view each other. As Chuck prepares to take his final mission, the one thing that stands in his way is a final test, the last hurdle in his path to becoming a full-blown spy. But if he's willing and able to take that leap, it might very well destroy any chance he has with Sarah and forever remove any last vestige of his innocence. What happens when your heart's desires are at cross-purposes? Is there any way to win? Or are you doomed to fail no matter what you do?So what did I think of this week's episode? Let's dive in.I thought Zev Borow did a fantastic job with this week's episode, though I will say that the Subway product placement was extremely heavy-handed this week, bordering on the almost obscene as Big Mike not only chomped down...

(S03E11) In tonight's episode, Clark Kent was taking orders from Superman. Chuck did look a little like Clark Kent in that outfit, didn't he?
Hasn't General Beckman and the government given Chuck enough tests? He probably already has more field time than most of their other agents. It seems pretty obvious that Chuck doesn't actually want to be a spy, particularly when being a spy requires the ability to kill a person in cold blood. He just wants to be with Sarah. He'd be a better tech guy, the "Q" to Sarah's Bond.
More discussion after the jump.

Add to myYahoo! For the survivors of the European flu, things have not been going so well lately.During Saturday night's season finale of BBC America's Survivors, members of the group were alternately kidnapped, shot, and forced to participate in a child thief gang that would have felt quite at home in Charles Dickens' Oliver. In other words: things couldn't really get much worse. And yet...In tonight's gripping second season premiere, the loose band of survivors discovers that things can in fact get a lot worse, as they face their toughest challenges yet and continue to become increasingly splintered by outside forces. Tonight's episode pushes them to the brink of death itself, as several characters find themselves trapped in untenable situations from which escape seems futile while one of them makes a selfless sacrifice in an effort to earn her place among the group.Survivors has thrived by offering a heady blend of post-apocalyptic suspense and a meditative exploration of the human condition under some bleak circumstances and tonight's episode is no exception to that rule. What do we do when faced with certain death? When the world comes crumbling down around our heads, do we hide or fight? Can you trust in the kindness of strangers or is there always a price to pay?Season Two of Survivors takes place moments after the end of the freshman season as Anya and Tom attempt to save the life of Greg, wounded by a shotgun blast minutes before at the hands of the sadistic Dexter. But...

Add to myYahoo!Lily has her birthday and all the pictures have to be just right. It's going great until Ted arrives--with a girl. This random "skank" as Lily calls her will forever be etched into the photo of friends and a girl no one remembers. The story didn't really go anywhere, but it did resolve some issues between Ted and Lily which came to a very satisfying conclusion when Lily realizes that Ted included her in a past picture.
The rest of the episode was spent going through memory lane. In all these photos, there's random skank after random skank. Ted can hardly even remember the names. It was fun to see Laura Prepon and Anne Dudek, and the laughs were numerous. But for all the time dedicated to the past, the story didn't move one bit. There were also a few gags with Barney and Marshall. Barney can't take a bad picture and Marshall can't take a picture without looking dead, stoned, and cold. Again, really funny stuff that didn't matter much in the end.
The one-year flashforward may have shed some light on what will happen. Don isn't there and neither is anyone Ted is seeing. Can we expect Don out of the picture and still no Mother in a year? I'm kind of disappointed in that, but the writers could easily come up with an excuse.
Score: 8.8/10

(S03E15) "Rufus is driving Jenny right into Damien's creepy arms." - Serena to Nate
This week's Jenny-centric episode made me notice how I missed seeing the entire gang working together towards a common goal. However, Chuck and Blair were left on the sidelines since he was occupied by Jack, Elizabeth, a lawsuit and a boycott.
No matter, it was refreshing to see Serena, Nate, Dan, Vanessa, Lily and Rufus all work hand in hand in order to locate Jenny and bring her back to safety -- location also known as "the loft where Jenny will be grounded for life."

(S02E17) "There's an app for that?" - Castle to Jordan Shaw, on her fingerprint app
Tonight's episode of 'Castle' was the first of a two-parter, and some pretty big stuff happened. If you haven't seen it yet, I'll wait til after the jump to talk about the major spoilers.
One thing I can talk about before the jump is Dana Delany. It was really awesome to see her in a meatier role than her 'Desperate Housewives' character. Ever since 'China Beach,' I've been waiting for her to get a really good role and hopefully, her new ABC pilot 'Body of Evidence' will be just that.
I know she's had plenty of roles since 'China,' but nothing that's equaled it in my mind. What can I say? I live in the past. She also played Magnum's girlfriend, so there.
