What to Watch: TV Picks for August 23-29

Real Housewives of New Jersey Caroline and DanielleMONDAY, AUGUST 23
'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' (10PM, Bravo) season 2 finale
Could this be the last hurrah for Danielle? If those rumors that she's been fired from the show are indeed true, she's going out in true drama mama style tonight: a showdown with fierce mama Caroline. With the whole gang back from Italy -- funny how people who've filed for bankruptcy could have afforded such a lavish vacay, no? -- Caroline, Teresa and Jacqueline get together and vow that the next phase of their lives will be Danielle-free. But since no one has been able to make that happen so far, Caroline volunteers to have a sitdown with Ms. Staub. And while tables may not be flipped, and the words "prostitution whore" might not be uttered this time around, we still wouldn't want to be the ones staring down the business end of Caroline's harsh warning for Danielle.

'Bond of Silence' - This fact-based movie stars Kim Raver as a suburban wife and mother who faces the wrath of her small-town community when she persists in finding out the truth about her husband's mysterious death, which occurred when he tried to calm down a raging teen party (9PM, Lifetime)

'The Closer' - As the office politics kick into overdrive, Pope finds out the buzz on whether or not he has a chance of becoming the next police chief (9PM, TNT)

'If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise' - On the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Spike Lee returns to New Orleans for this two-part documentary (tonight and Tues.) that delves into what the economic, educational, housing and general infrastructure situations are in the city now (9PM, HBO)

'Miss Universe Pageant' - Bret Michaels co-hosts the 59th annual pageant, with Olympian Evan Lysacek, Criss Angel, Billy Baldwin and Chazz Palminteri on the judges panel (9PM, NBC)

'Witness: Katrina' - This incredibly affecting two-hour special is filled with first-hand accounts, as well as amateur videos and photos, of the devastating first 72-hours of Katrina (9PM, NGC)

'The Hard Times of RJ Berger' - Lily's still in the hospital, but things are looking up for RJ, who bonds with Jenny at the winter formal (10PM, MTV) season 1 finale

'Rizzoli & Isles' - Balthazar Getty and Chazz Palminteri guest star in an episode in which Jane and Maura try to stop a shooter whose target is runners in the Boston Marathon (10PM, TNT)

'The Big C' - Adam wants to get away from his mom and dad for the summer, but when he tries to sneak off to soccer camp, Cathy gets some unexpected help in, um, convincing him to return home (10:30PM, Showtime)

The Creative Arts Emmys are a prelude to the Aug. 29 Primetime Emmys telecast and primarily honor technical achievements.

White and Harris won for guest acting in comedies ('Saturday Night Live' and 'Glee,' respectively). Their counterparts in drama series were John Lithgow for 'Dexter' and Ann-Margret for 'Law & Order: SVU.'
