Add to myYahoo! At least one person isn't a fan of the "Glee" treatment of Gotye's blowout hit, "Somebody That I Used to Know": Gotye himself.
The Australian singer dissed the song cover in an interview with his native country's The Sunday Mail, saying, "They did such a faithful arrangement of the instruments but the vocals were that pop 'Glee' style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box."
He later added, "It made it sound dinky and wrong."
Harsh words for the Darren Criss and Matt Bomer April 10 performance (and following SNL appearance) that helped drive "Somebody" to the top of the charts the countless covers didn't hurt, either). Perhaps Gotye feels he's a bit too popular for his own good: "Somebody" currently reigns at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart (where it's charted 15 consecutive weeks), while the music video has racked up more than 174 million views.

Add to myYahoo!Being the cousin of "Real Housewives of New Jersey's" fan favorite-turned-villain Teresa Giudice can't be easy. But Kathy Wakile seems to be managing just fine.
Kathy, Teresa's expressive "Real Housewives" co-star, is heading into Season 4 (premieres Sunday, August 22 at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo), which is her second season on the show.
When we last saw Kathy, she -- and the rest of the housewives -- was coping with the fallout from Teresa's cookbook, still reeling from the "unattended" baptism accusation, raising her two teenage children (Victoria and Joseph) with her husband Rich (the bespectacled Lebanese Jeff Goldblum) and starting up her own catering company.
Below, one of the newest New Jersey housewives -- Kathy and Teresa's sister-in-law Melissa Gorga both joined in Season 3 -- talks about her reaction to Teresa flipping a table on TV, her husband's dry sense of humor, her breakout star sister Rosie, the surprising thing she learned from watching herself on TV and more!
Did you watch all of Season 1 and Season 2 before you agreed to sign on to do the show?
Yes, I did.
What did you think about your cousin Teresa while you were watching? When you saw the table flip in the Season 1 finale, were you surprised by her behavior?
Honestly, yes, I was. I was very surprised because I'd never seen her do something like that. I know that she can get feisty, but I've never seen her do anything like that before.
Were you at all nervous about putting your family on the show? You guys seem to be a very grounded family and you're a very protective mom.
We discussed it at length so many times before we agreed to sign on. My kids were really answering all of our questions in the right way and anything that we were afraid of, we discussed and we've remained on that same page till now. We've always had an open line of communication with my husband and my kids. We just thought it would be a different opportunity, a different adventure and we thought it would be fun. And for the most part, it has been.
And your husband Rich in particular seems to have a lot of fun. I mean, that scene with Victoria's prom date and the nuts and him telling Victoria to put on jeans under her dress. Was there anything he did that surprised you or embarrassed you when you watched the show?
Not really because that's Rich. There's really nothing he does that surprises. There may be some things I'm not too happy about, but it doesn't surprise me one bit. He's very dry, he's very quick-witted and he comes up with things that you may be thinking in your head -- and most likely, you are thinking those things in your head -- but you would never say them. His delivery from the day I met him has always been the same. He's just right on point and he seems to get a pass most of the time.
And your sister Rosie was also a surprising breakout star in Season 3.
Yes!
Everyone just loved her.
She's a magnet. When you meet Rosie, you know her presence is in the room and you immediately love her. I think you're gonna be happy because if you liked her in Season 3, you're gonna love her in Season 4.
Really? That's great because anytime she popped up, people got so excited.
Oh, I know. They went wild!
So looking back at Season 3, was there anything that you watched or saw of yourself that wanted to change?
The thing is that we really didn't have much of a break between Season 3 and Season 4. So it seemed like one continuous season for us. So there wasn't really any retrospect because we were already in it. There wasn't any time to re-adjust your thinking or anything like that, but … When you are authentic to who you are, you make mistakes and everyone does because we're human. So at the end of the day, if you are being true to who you are and the camera catches it and it's not showing you in the best light, you do one of two things: You either deny it or you own up to it and say, "Yeah. OK. That was stupid." So what are you gonna do? You have to be true to yourself.
I have to say, something a lot of people noticed about you when watching the show is how expressive your eyes are. Did you realize you spoke so much through your eyes before seeing yourself on TV because it's so rare that people see themselves talking like that.
Of course! Because no one walks around with a mirror to know the facial expressions they make as they speak. So that was very, very eye-opening. No pun intended. I didn't realize I spoke with my eyes that much. They give everything away.
You mentioned that they was hardly any break between Season 3 and Season 4. In the first episode of Season 4, all of your families head to the Shore together. How long was that after the cookbook came to light at the end of Season 3?
I think it was only a few weeks so yes, it was very fresh.
So how tense was that?
Well, you know, it was tense because for me, the things she wrote about, whatever. I'm not gonna let that kind of stuff get to me because I knew where it was coming from and why it was written in there so it didn't really bother me so much. She wasn't specific that it was me, but I'm sure she was talking about me or my husband, but it's not that big of a deal. But I could see how it would bother everyone else because I just don't think it was necessary. I just don't think there was a place for it. But, you know, everyone has their own way of writing and expressing themselves and that's the thing about freedom of speech.
In terms of you and Teresa, viewers know that you two were once very close, but your relationship already seemed strained when we first met you at the start of Season 3. Was it her going on the show that affected you two or something else?
I think she felt there was a divide between she and I because I had become closer to Melissa and Joe. But I'm pretty capable of sustaining more than one relationship at a time. So I think that she took it as, "OK. You're hanging out with them now? That's fine. We don't need to hang out." She took it as if I was choosing a side, but it's one family -- it's not two separate sides, it's one family. And that was my goal, all season … to bring the family back together.
Is that more of what we'll see in terms of your relationships with Teresa and Melissa in Season 4?
I maintain that same goal. I don't want to get involved in anyone else's business; I just want to try and bring the family together once again and try to remain someone who has their best interests at heart and can see the bigger picture.
What else can you tell us about what's to come in Season 4?
Well, I think it's gonna be very eye-opening. It peels back some layers. You can clearly see we're not just a bunch of ladies that have been thrown together. We have a connection. Usually, it's six degrees of separation, but, at most, we're at two [degrees] here. We're all connected in one way or another. As big as New Jersey is, it's very small ... To be able to understand people's relationships fully, you need to peel back layers. I think this season sheds a little bit more light on our relationships.
Can you tell us at this point where your relationships with Teresa stands?
My relationship with Teresa is cordial. We've been in communication a little bit; texting through the holidays, sending cards and stuff like that. But we're both very busy so it's hard. And when you have free time, it's really for your immediate family. So it's hard to reconnect sometimes. But if I see her, I'm cordial with her; I'm happy to see her. I always wish the best for her so I hope that that can keep rolling.
Do you watch any of the other "Real Housewives"?
Oh yeah. I watch them all.
So who's your favorite non-Jersey housewife?
It's not really a fair assessment because I really love Camille [Grammer, formerly of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"], but really, true and true, she's from Jersey originally.
Isn't she the most improved housewife ever?
Yeah. I think that the first season she was under a lot of stress so she came off differently. But second season she really came into her own and found her own independence and her own voice and her true Jersey girl came out once again. So I related a lot to her. I find a little something special about each and every one of the ladies. I really, really love Sonja Morgan. I love the way she just loves life and loves people. I've had the pleasure of spending some time with her and I really do like her as a person as well.
She seems like a lot of fun.
Oh, she is. And Ramona. I just love Ramona's spirit. That woman is just a spunky woman and I love her. And I do believe that she doesn't mean any harm. She's blunt, but she doesn't mean any harm in her words. And I really like her.
And you two both have the expressive eyes in common.
Yes! Isn't that funny? We found kindred spirits through our eyes. [Laughs.]

Add to myYahoo! It was pretty crazy this week with the two looks for a "Now and Then" theme, but we pulled it off! As you may know, I listen to the songs the #Idols will perform beforehand. Though the "Then" songs this week were by Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, etc., I wanted to keep the singers' looks fresh and modern. Loved the fashion? You're in the right place!
PLUS, have any questions or just want to say hi? Hit me up on Twitter: @SoysFashion!
Hollie Cavanagh
First up is Miss Hollie. We didn't have much time for shopping this week, so I brought her these two options. I love modifying looks by accessorizing correctly, and for Hollie I took and made a classic silhouette edgy for "Rolling in the Deep" by giving a twist with the sheerness of the pant fabric, the amount of skin exposed on the top, necklace, and shoes. Because Hollie is petite, I modified her high collar neckline on her pink dress for her "Then" performance so she could look taller. And I have to say how much I #LOVE her pink Barbie shoes!
(Left, Now) To sing Adele's "Rolling In The Deep," I styled Hollie in a blue glittery LeiLuna Collectiontop that began as a dress, an ANGLbandeau, and Alice + Oliviapants. Jewelry included earrings by Prb Studios, Private Collection, necklace by Nineteen Twenty Nine, rings from Supreme Jewelry, and bracelets by Tiffany Chou.
(Right, Then) For her performance of "Son of a Preacher Man," Hollie donned a pink ensemble including a Shakuhachidress (with a few adjustments), Aldoshoes, and Prb Studios, Private Collection necklace.
Colton Dixon
I will miss dressing Colton this week. He wanted to go all out this past week with his performance of "Bad Romance." I wanted to make sure we didn't go too crazy with the styling and keep his streamline, tailored style with all of our decisions. I made his red pants darker with some black shoe polish. We found his Jaded by Knight boots at an awesome bargain from Wasteland. For "September" I wanted to make sure we reeled back to the Colton that all his fans really know and love. He wanted to take a risk this week, have fun, and rock 'n' roll!
(Left, Now) To rock out to "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga, Colton wore an Rochambeautop, Greg Laurenjacket (again this week!), and Robin's Jeanpants with Kizmit customizations. His shoes were by Jaded by Knight, and the look was topped off with Luv Ajrings.
(Right, Then) To sing "September" by Earth Wind & Fire, I styled Colton in a Hotel top, Unconditionalvest, Kill Citypants, and Hudsonshoes.
Skylar Laine
We all forget little tricks we do on a regular basis. When I was dressing Skylar for the results night last week a light switched on for her upcoming week's performance: belting a shawl or vest. For her "Born This Way" outfit, I pulled that trick out of my hat to accentuate the smallest part of Skylar, her waist, and have the draped looked without any worries. I really #LOVE Skylar in dresses and the one she wore this week for her "Then" performance was #HOT! I threw black accents onto her nude cowgirl boots to tie in the colors of the dress by tearing off some left-off fabric to give it a rock 'n' roll fringy look, and added a Neon Dirt bracelet to give it some sparkle!Â
(Left, Now) To sing Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," I styled Skylar in an H&Mtop, an Unconditionalvest, and Robin's Jeanpants. Accessories were an ANGLbelt, Nine Westshoes, and rings by Junk Gypsy Co. and London Manori.
(Right, Then) To sing Marvin Gaye's "Heard It Through The Grapevine," this girl with major #spunk wore an Ani Leedress and Corral Bootsboots with major personality! Jewelry included Neon Dirtearrings and a London Manoribracelet.
Side note: Loved when Steven Tyler said to Skylar "You're like a wild horse that refuses to be tamed."
Joshua Ledet
I think all of you readers are beginning to catch on that I #LOVE to customize; it's the only way to get exactly what I want as well as give each #IDOL their signature look. I took an H&M jacket and added all the black to Joshua's jacket. It toned down the orange that gave it a deeper, richer red tone. Little touches of bling go a long way for every man, and I placed a stud on Joshua's pocket square pocket for a little pick-me-up. I wanted to switch up Joshua's look for his "Then" song to show that he can do more than just a blazer look. With a beautiful fit, he looked fabulous in his leather vest and black jeans.Â
(Left, Now) To sing Fantasia's "I Believe," I styled Joshua ("Sweet cutie," as @JLo called him) in Paul Smithsocks and shirt topped with an H&Mjacket with Kizmit customizations. He also wore Zarapants, Aldoshoes, a watch by Christian Tse, and his own rings.
(Right, Then) To sing Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come," Joshua wore a Zaratop and pants. We shed a jacket for this performance and went with a Noah Kingeryvest! He also wore Aldoshoes, socks by Paul Smith, and a London Manoribracelet.
Phillip Phillips
Less is more, I always say... and with Phillip, that is the golden ticket to his style. Every week Phillip is trying out new styles and brands. Now that he's gotten comfortable with the blazer look, this week I will be experimenting on fit. He #LOVES Frye boots, and wore a nice black pair this week. Look out next week for a more fitted look on Phillip Phillips!
(Left, Now) To put his own spin on Usher's ballad "U Got It Bad," I dressed Phillip down in a James Persetop and Lucky Brandpants. He wore shoes by The Frye Company and a bracelet by M. Cohen Designs.
(Right, Then) For "In The Midnight Hour" by Wilson Pickett, Phil wore a Gaptop, John Varvatosblazer, Lucky Brandpants, and The Frye Companyshoes.
Jessica Sanchez
I wanted Jessica to be on trend and trend-setting with her white jumpsuit and Navajo/tribal jewelry pieces for her "Now" performance. White is such a great canvas to play on with bright colors. Jessica has such a funky cool vibe to her, and styling her every week is a ton of #FUN. That said, for "Try A Little Tenderness" I didn't want her anything BUT modern in paying tribute to a great classic. I gave her modern with an extreme shoulder leather crop jacket and accessories and classic with the playful fringe and pants. The colors and the cut of each piece of the look made it youthful and fun!
(Left, Now) To sing Alicia Keys' "Fallin'," Jessica wore a statement-making, and much-talked about, jumpsuit by Alice + Olivia, a pink American Apparelunitard underneath, and bold teal Bebeshoes and earrings. Other jewelry included a Deepa Gurnaninecklace, Charriolbracelet, and Erica Courtneyrings.
(Right, Then) To sing "Otis Redding's soulful "Try A Little Tenderness," I styled Jessica in a Zara tank top, Skingraftjacket, and Alice + Oliviapants. Accessories included Rachel Royshoes, an Expressbelt, and rings by Tiffany Chou and Supreme Jewelry.
Elise Testone
Speaking of less is more, this is the case with Elise. I didn't layer as many accessories on her because we went with the statement piece jewelry concept. With the wind machine and the extra chiffon for "No One," she didn't need a lot to make her look fabulous! For "Let's Get it On" I had Elise try on a dress, but I couldn't imagine her in a fitted dress for this song. So I cut the bottom part of the dress and kept the top because I loved all the construction lines on it. I took a top with the bell sleeves and flipped it back to turn it into a shrug. Elise was really feeling the dark blue so I added the bell to her pants with that color and trim on her hips to slim down her curves just a little, because I love her curves!
(Left, Now) To sing Alicia Keys' "No One," I styled Elise in an orange Leon Max dress and Pelle Modashoes. The jewelry was piled on! Erica Courtneyearrings, necklace, and rings, and bracelets by Prb Studios, Private Collection and de Leon.
(Right, Then) To sing Marvin Gaye's sexy "Let's Get It On," this rocker with soul wore a Bebetop with sweetheart neckline and Kizmit customizations, Zarapants with Kizmit customizations, and her own Bakersshoes. Jewelry included Erica Courtneynecklace and rings and Christian Tseearrings.

Add to myYahoo! The Voice’s first Sunday night became a little bit repetitive, but there were still some surprises along the way.
Ben Kelly, the show’s established favourite with a million views on YouTube for his first audition, was justifiably confident going into Battle, but he’d reckoned without the determined Ruth Anne St Luce.
Ruth Anne was the underdog going up against the bow-tied wonder for their Wanna Dance With Somebody rendition, but she nailed it, with some Whitney-worthy zingers, and overcame the fave to go through. The other judges remained astonished by Jessie’s decision.
And in the ultimate rock battle of the night, a nervous David Julien had to deal with the confidence-brrrrimmming John James Newman, to sing Dakota. Both had a lot riding on this, David having quit his job to participate, and John needing to compete with his Waterloo Road actor brother (not sure if he mentioned that, again) The searing tones of David outdid the husky, rough notes of John and he was through after a painful decision from Danny, but it was a storming duet â€
