Add to myYahoo!2009 saw the releases of some pretty stellar albums from some of my favorite rock bands. Some secured their spot back on my radar while others continued a steady streak, but what do you think is the best rock album of 2009?

There's good news and bad news from the soap world, and considering lately that the bad news has been horrific -- As the World Turns getting cancelled -- this might be a bit over-dramatic. However, William Russ was fired and Stephen Nichols hired at The Young & the Restless. Bad news for Russ, a very good actor who was doing just fine as Tucker McCall, new billionaire in Genoa City. Good news for fans of Nichols, who was bounced from Days of Our Lives last February.
According to the powers that be at Y&R, the McCall character is going in a different direction. That prompted Russ's dismissal. According to Stephen, Russ handled the firing with grace and class. He left a note in the dressing room for Nichols and wished him well in the role.

Many experts are saying that American Idol couldn’t continue on without Cowell. I for one agree that it wouldn’t be the same show and I [...]

Add to myYahoo! The holiday season isn't always merriment and cheer: just take Jack Bauer for example. Sure, we've never seen a holiday played out on 24 (though how amazing would it be to see Jack save the world between bites of pie?), but let's imagine what it would be like to see Jack interrogating Kris Kringle himself. Check out the video below from the folks at rebel Christmas card to see what happens when Jack learns he's not on the nice list this year, and don't forget to play my holiday movie faceoff for a chance to win a prize package!

What is a best and worst list anyway? Is it truly a list of the best shows of the year and the worst shows of the year based on quality alone or do we have personal "favorites" in there too? Even if you watch 10 hours of TV a day there's no way that any TV critic can watch every single show, so there might be some gaps in what one person considers the "best and worst" and what another person has on their list.
Here are my picks.
The Best
1. Mad Men. There was no other drama this year that did so many things in so many ways. It's funny how a lot of people kept saying that "nothing ever happens" on this show. Actually, everything happened on this show, and it's all acted, written, and filmed in such a gorgeous way. This is a beautiful television series.
Here's one of the more talked about scenes from this season:
