Paula Abdul has done everything but say she'll be a judge on The X Factor, dropping hints in a radio interview that are very, very Paula--which is to say they lack subtlety, and she might as well have just come out and said it. "Drop a clue? Oh, I'm gonna be going back to my roots and doing a TV show that has something to do with my roots. ... I'm going back to doing... keep reading »

Add to myYahoo! As The Amazing Race began, I once again felt the excitement that comes with a new race as the camera swept across the team's faces and Phil squinted his face even more than he did last season. Then the teams took a bus and the subway to the airport, walked across a wire, rode a funicular, painted a square, and checked in. Wow. I'm not sure if it's budget cuts or what, but the first... keep reading »

(S04E06) "I think I can understand how difficult this must be, keeping a secret." - Bill on discovering that Dale has been having an affair with Alby
"You can't imagine." - Dale
Some of the season's most interesting plot lines came to a screeching halt this week and by screeching, I mean literally just that. The stench of burning rubber won't come out of my couch no matter how well it's been Scotchguarded.
Of course, just because some problems have come to an end doesn't represent their means to an end. They only serve to create new and bigger ones.

Add to myYahoo!Audiences are smitten with Valentine's Day. Lackluster reviews couldn't stop the A-list rom-com from placing in the top spot at the box office with an intake of $52.4 million.
Other openers Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and The Wolfman earned second and third place with $31.1 million and $30.6 million respectively, making this weekend the highest grossing President's Day tally to date.
Avatar and Dear John continued to cling to spots in the top five. James Cameron claimed another $22 million for his pet project for No. 4, while the Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried vehicle took a significant 50 percent hit, bringing in $15 million for No. 5.

Add to myYahoo!A good, strong start for the 16th season of The Amazing Race. Enjoying the casting; even the stunt casting is fine with me. Go Team Grandma! Your thoughts?

A little while ago, we mentioned that 'Cash Cab' was being released as an app for the iPhone. I couldn't resist picking it up and writing a quickie review, mostly because I was once a contestant on the show. Honest.
The game itself is pretty cool, particularly if you like trivia. It simulates riding to various NYC touristy locations (Empire State Building, South Street Seaport, etc.) while being asked questions. This is different than the live show which uses bars and restaurants.
Sadly, the game does not offer cool 3D graphics of Ben Bailey. It does, however, ask various trivia questions while simulating a cab ride. There is a map showing your current location and length of time to your destination, so there is a time limit. Like it's live counterpart, the game also allows a shout out and to phone a friend, but the friend has to be selected from one of the built-in friends within the game.
There is a free version of the game available in the iTunes App Store if you want to try before you buy. Due to my personal connection, I decided to splurge the $2.99. My only regret in my experience playing both the live game and the one for the iPhone is that I forgot to tip the cab driver for a great journey.
