"Kill Bill Vol. 2": The Republicans have blocked the no-confidence vote. Ugh, the Alberto Gonzalez craziness never ends. He's like the Paris Hilton of Capitol Hill.

Will Dwight spin off from The Office

Dwight Schrute could be spinning off into his own TV series. At least that's the whisper that's turned into a rumour that's turning into self-fulfilling "buzz" in and around NBC.Dwight, played by Rainn Wilson in NBC's hit sitcom The Office, is second banana to Steve Carell's Michael Scott on the show that was ripped off from Ricky Gervais' UK classic of the same name by Ben Silverman-- the producer and party animal who is now NBC's new chief of programming. So Ben is expanding his horizons. While he made a name importing hits from the UK and shaping them into American classics, now he's copping from one of his copies. (Dwight is the American counterpart to Mackenzie Crook's brilliant Gareth Keenan; Carell, in a role originally offered to Paul Giamatti-- a star of Big Fat Liar, one of Tabloid Baby's Top 50 Movies of all time-- has Gervais' spot).Hey, it worked for Frasier and Joey-- uh, it worked for Frasier.--Tabloid Baby

On The Lot: Five More Finalists Present Films

(S01E06) To the producer's credit, we finally have a format for this show, and it appears we're sticking with it. We also seem to have hit upon a trend with easy on the eyes but hard on the ears host Adriana Costa.

I could be wrong, but it appears her outfit gets a little skimpier every week.

If I'm right, somewhere around week 10 Fox's ratings are going to kill in this time slot since it's likely Adriana will have her outfit whittled down to a couple of squares of toilet paper held together by some fishing line.

NBC marks 9/11 with 'The Biggest Loser.' Nice.

NBC is commemorating the sixth anniversary of the September 11th attacks with The Biggest Loser! Didn't we already see that gag on 30 Rock? Guess not, because it's true. NBC's new programming boss and legendary party animal Ben Silverman is running a two hour fourth-season premiere (what do you bet they do triage with a "very special" Dateline at 10?) at 8 pm on that most solemn of evenings-- even though it hits a few days before the Nielsen-approved official start of the fall season.NBC also plans a "Where Are They Now?" special for September 4th. No, it's not about the whereabouts of bin Laden and his gang. It features past contestants and how they've done since their time on the show.And speaking of biggest losers... Carolyn Rhea was dumped as host. Sexier formr fatty Alison Sweeney from is taking over.Contestants this time around will cry and lose pounds at a spartan new location under the watch of trainers Bob Harper and Kim Lyons. Former trainer Jillian Michaels will also be back. Contestants nclude a set of twins and a 62-year-old-- the show's oldest player yet. Sexy.Loser is produced by Revielle, the company Ben Silverman ran before taking the NBC gig.--Tabloid Baby

CW to Lose "Hidden Palms" Earlier Than Expected

You've got to love when a network obviously shows so much pride in their product that they push a launch date for a series endlessly, dump the thing during the summer months (read: burnoff), and then mess around with the scheduling.

In a move, post-Veronica Mars cancellation, that surprises no one, the CW has announced that it will "condense" the airing structure of newbie drama series Hidden Palms and wrap the series on July 4th.

The CW will therefore air back-to-back episodes of Hidden Palms on Wednesday, June 20th and June 27th, from 8-10 pm ET/PT, with the series finale (a.k.a. Episode Eight) planned for Wednesday, July 4th. Because the CW's teen audience will doubtlessly be inside watching the network rather than, you know, watching fireworks or being outside on the Fourth.

Additionally, effective immediately, the CW will drop the Sunday night replays of the teen drama, replacing it with repeats of, yes, Seventh Heaven. (Seventh Heaven's slot will likewise be filled with back-to-back repeats of Reba, another dead series.)

No word yet on what will take over Hidden Palms' vacated timeslot come July 11th.

"Veronica" Creator Moves to ABC Sitcom

With "Veronica Mars" now officially dead ? despite a last-ditch marshmallow and candy campaign by fans ? series creator Rob Thomas is moving onto his next project: ABC's new sitcom "Miss Guided."

The sitcom, which ABC picked up for a mid-season premiere at May's Upfronts, stars Judy Greer as a guidance counselor who returns to work at her old high school, only to find that her high school nemesis has also joined the faculty. Thomas will run the show as executive producer.

Thomas also has said that DC Comics is interested in making the fourth season of "Veronica" into a comic series, and he's still mulling a "Veronica" screenplay, so even though the show is gone from TV, it's long from being forgotten.
