(S08E12) Well, after the past couple of shows -- especially Monk's reunion with Sharona -- I was imagining that the final season of Monk was sprinting to the finish line, delivering some final hours that would be up there with the best ever for the series.
Then Adrian went camping. This might be one of the weakest Monks of all time. The funniest thing was the title, which was where the inspiration began and -- sadly -- ended. Nothing worked. Monk and children? No. Monk in the woods? No. Monk and the grizzly bear? Do you even have to wonder? More after the jump.

Add to myYahoo!I've already given you holiday gift ideas for dad, mom, grandma, and now it's time to round out the group with suggestions for grandpa. What to get a patriarch who loves watching the tube, going to the movies, and listening to music? I have a few ideas, coming from my own grandfather, who loves Frank Sinatra (and will therefore be so jazzed about this CD and DVD box set), The Godfather, and updated versions of film classics. Maybe you'll find an idea from these picks too!

Just a few recent appearances by "The Numbers" from 'Lost', popping up on other TV series:
First up, Brick wore the number "4" in his basketball debut on 'The Middle'.
Sam and Dean Winchester were lured into a trap by the Trickster (AKA Gabriel the Arch-Angel) at an old abandoned factory. And unlike everyone who's ever appeared on 'Let's Make A Deal', they chose Door Number "4".
Finally, FBI Agent Olivia Dunham found her suspect - or what was left of him - in motel room #8 in the "Earthling" episode of 'Fringe'. This show comes from JJ Abrams, who is also one of the men behind the curtain on 'Lost'; 'Fringe' has made a few overt connections to 'Lost' in the past.

(S01E07) With the IOA and Stargate Command planning a risky rescue mission aboard The Destiny, Eli, Chloe and Young used the communication stones to head back to Earth and... indulge in a little drinking and sex!
The crew faced death again, Col. Telford came aboard to annoy everyone again, and Rush hovered on the fringe, skulking and whining about the military's plan of action. Again.
Still, I really enjoyed how everything played out this week. Finally Eli, aka the Star Wars-referencing funny guy, was given more to do than make jokes and pine for Chloe. David Blue really sold the scenes with Eli talking to his mother. I sensed a real longing from Eli to want to take care of his mom and prove himself to her out of love and respect. It was a good idea to have him pose as a co-worker. That way, we got to see what he really thinks about himself, his mother, and his current situation.

(S01E03) "I like my miracles with more smiting and lightning." - Burke
Would the FBI really help a bad guy get a church Bible back? Sure, it turned out to be a very important Bible, but the way that Barelli just comes into the FBI and asks for their help in getting the book back and the chief takes him seriously from the get-go didn't ring true to me. Sure, Burke told him to just go to the local police, but then the chief pulls him aside and says that he doesn't need the Archdiocese breathing down his neck about it. That just seemed like a way for the writers to justify the plot in the first place.
