Gordon Ramsay to Star Culinary Competition
'Masterchef'

Famed chef Gordon Ramsay is bringing MASTERCHEF (working title), a newculinary competition series based on the smash hit U.K. and Australianformat, to FOX. MASTERCHEF (working title) will take wannabe chefs whosimply cook as a hobby and have absolutely no experience in the foodindustry and attempt to turn one of them into a MasterChef.

Contestants on MASTERCHEF (working title) will be put through the paceswith various challenges as they compete head-to-head to createdelicious dishes. The series will serve as a unique platform for peoplefrom all walks of life who want to follow their dream of working as aprofessional chef. These everyday at-home cooks will have theonce-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show their passion and excitement forfood as they are put to the test and judged by world-renowned chefs.

Even a takeover can't save NBC

There are very few sure fire signs that a network is completely worthless and this is one of them.

Comcast has been looking to buy the financially troubled NBC from General Electric, but Wall Street insiders say the deal won't be good for Comcast's stock.

Even confirmed reports of a takeover bid can't save the network in the eyes of the almighty stockholder. What would make NBC more profitable in Wall Street's eyes?

'Iron Chef America' Goes to the White House

Food Network stars Mario Batali, Bobby Flay and Emeril Lagasse travelto the White House to take part in an unprecedented culinarycompetition in Super Chef Battle, a special two-hour episode of IronChef America. Greeted by First Lady Michelle Obama, the chefs arejoined by White House Executive Chef Cristeta Comerford and receivetheir challenge: create a meal for America using The White HouseKitchen Garden's produce as their secret ingredients. The specialepisode premieres Sunday, January 3rd at 8pm ET/PT.

"We are honored to showcase The White House Kitchen Garden in Iron ChefAmerica," said Bob Tuschman, Senior Vice President, Programming andProduction for Food Network. "This is the most intense culinarycompetition we've ever shown. It's awe-inspiring to see what fourmaster chefs can create from locally-grown ingredients in the heat ofKitchen Stadium."


Iron Chef America commentator Alton Brown explains that the Chairmanhas sent the three Food Network chefs to Washington, D.C. for a veryspecial battle and introduces Chef Cristeta Comerford, who will alsotake part in the competition. The group is then greeted by the FirstLady, who explains that the chefs will be allowed to use anything foundin The White House Kitchen Garden to help them create their meals.After receiving their challenge, the chefs are split into two teams:Flay and Comerford versus Batali and Lagasse. The chefs immediatelyhead to the garden where they are tasked with harvesting theiringredients. Then it's off to Kitchen Stadium where the battle begins.Each team must produce five dishes that showcase the ingredients theyselected from the garden and that represent the ultimate American meal.The judges include: chef and best-selling cookbook author NigellaLawson; Olympic gold medalist Natalie Coughlin; and actress, author anddesigner Jane Seymour. Ted Allen (Chopped) assists as a guest floorreporter. Iron Chef America is produced by Triage Entertainment.

Installed in the spring of 2009 under the Obama Administration, TheWhite House Kitchen Garden measures approximately 1100 square feet andis located on the west side of the South Lawn. The four-season herb,fruit and vegetable garden features 75 varieties of seeds planted inslightly raised beds using succession planting methods. Cultivated byWhite House staff and volunteers, produce from the garden and honeyfrom the adjacent beehives are available to the White House Chefs forpreparing meals for the First Family and for official functions, andall extra food is donated to Miriam's Kitchen, a soup kitchen near theWhite House.

CMT Nabs Two New Series

CMT dives into adventure with the announcement of two new series,DANGER COAST and GATOR 911 (working titles), designed to be thefoundation of a new, branded evening of programming on the network.Scheduled to premiere in second quarter 2010, these originals markCMT's first official entry into the adventure genre.

DANGER COAST, produced by ITV Studios, Inc., follows the dramaticexploits of Miami's elite waterborne Marine Operations Bureau as theyfight against overwhelming odds to selflessly protect the public atlarge, while risking their own lives. GATOR 911, produced by 12 ForwardEntertainment, chronicles the adventures of Gary Suarage,conservationist and owner of the Texas-based adventure park, GatorCountry, as he and his team work in dangerous waters to rescue gatorsfrom unusual places and deliver them to their new refuge. Each of theseseries has received a half-hour, 10 episode order.
Mary Beth Cunin, CMT's SVP Programming Strategy, states: "The additionof these new adventure reality shows to our schedule is the nextlogical step in CMT's overall progression, and vital to expanding ourviewership base. Barbara Walters to Interview Sarah Palin

Barbara Walters will sit down with former Vice Presidential candidateand Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for a five-part series of ABC Newsinterviews to begin airing on "Good Morning America" November 17, themorning her highly anticipated book, Going Rogue: An American Life, isreleased.

The wide-ranging interview will cover her public life asGovernor of Alaska and her Vice Presidential run in 2008, as well asher private life. This is Walters' first interview with the politicalfigure. Portions of the interview will also air on "Nightline" onNovember 17, again on "Good Morning America" on November 18 and on"20/20" on November 20.

New Comedic Dance Show 'Let's Dance' with Host

Two-time Emmy Award winner and NY Times best-selling author KathyGriffin ("My Life on the D-List") will host "Let's Dance," a new,comedic dance series from "American Idol" producers FremantleMediaNorth America that features stars competing for charity as they payhomage to some of the most famous movie, musical and pop video danceroutines of all time.

"Let's Dance" will kick off its five-episode runwith a live 90-minute premiere episode on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23(9:30-11:00 p.m., ET) following the Season 9 finale broadcast of"Dancing with the Stars" on the ABC Television Network. Additionalepisodes will air on Monday, Nov. 30, Mon., Dec. 7 and Mon., Dec. 14(9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) with the finale on Tues., Dec. 15 (8:00-9:00p.m., ET).

The first three episodes of "Let's Dance" will feature stars from allwalks of life competing in single, group and duo performances as theytrain, rehearse and take to the stage to reveal their comedic danceroutine in front of a studio audience. After each performance, acelebrity panel will give their comments before viewers across Americahave the chance to vote for their favorite performance. The celebritypanel and star participants will be announced shortly.

From each of the episodes, two performances will be chosen one by theviewers and one by the celebrity panel. These two acts will then returnagain to dance in the finale and the chance to win the hearts of theviewing audience. In the spectacular finale results show, the one actwith the most viewer votes will be crowned America's favorite and beawarded the coveted grand prize for their personal charity.

Double Emmy winner, NY Times best-selling author, Grammy-nominee and2009's GLAAD Vanguard Award recipient Kathy Griffin is a multi-facetedperformer with a rapid fire wit who has been making audiences laugh foryears discussing Hollywood gossip and celebrity blunders.

After moving from her native Chicago and joining the famed Los AngelesGroundlings comedy improvisational troupe, Griffin began building herresume with guest starring roles on such series as "ER" and "Seinfeld"where she created recurring character Sally Weaver. Judge Wapner Returns to the People's Court Nov.

On Friday, November 13, Judge Marilyn Milian welcomes Judge Joseph A.Wapner back to the bench of "The People's Court" to litigate a specialcase in honor of his 90th birthday. Judge Wapner bangs the gavel on theEmmy-nominated court show that launched the entire court show genre andpaved the way for a multitude of reality television shows. "ThePeople's Court was the original reality series featuring reallitigants, real cases and real justice.

In recognition of Judge Wapner's contributions, he will be inductedinto the Hollywood Walk of Fame with a star on November 12.

Wapner reflects on his experience at "The People's Court" as agratifying instrument of education. Wapner relished his tenure on thebench, "It was a happy marriage of my love of the law and theentertainment industry."
According to Executive Producer, Stu Billett, "The People's Court" wasan innovator. "In 1981, a simple show featuring small claims courtcases found a television audience thirsting to hear compelling storiesthat they could relate to and found a judge in Joseph Wapner that wasfair, knowledgeable and most importantly credible. Judge Marilyn Milian hands over the gavel to her predecessor, JudgeWapner to litigate a special case. "Returning to 'The People's Court'on the occasion of my 90th birthday is a great privilege and honor."

"The People's Court" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievancesin civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated byMilian. An experienced team of researchers continually canvass courtsacross the country in search of the most compelling, unique andthought-provoking cases. Cases run the gamut from disputes betweenneighbors, family members and intimates to dissatisfied customers suingbusinesses. Milian's decisions, based on current law, are final andbinding.
