Former According to Jim star Jim Belushi is moving to a drama series. He's been tapped to star in a legal drama created by Murphy Brown mastermind Diane English and Homicide and Oz exec-producer Barry Levinson. The show is loosely based on the memoir "How Can You Defend These People?" by TV commentator and lawyer Mickey Sherman.
This is an excellent way for Belushi to wash the stench of According to Jim from his person. If presented as a dramedy (much like many of the popular dramas today), this could be a winner.

Add to myYahoo! After months and months of waiting for Lost's final season, we're finally in the home stretch! Promos for new episodes have started rolling out (though we won't see a single snip of new footage until next year) and the speculation about who will be returning is heating up more than ever.
A few weeks ago there were rumblings that a character from seasons past had been asked to return but hadn't made a decision yet, and today we learned that it's Maggie Grace. Of course, just because she's yet to confirm an appearance in season six doesn't mean we won't see Shannon. Just last week Sonya Walger said she "didn't know" if we'd be seeing Penny either, but we do know that Ian Somerhalder's pretty face will be making a cameo.
The masterminds behind the show have said that we're going to see lots of old faces in the final season, so while we wait - which Lost characters do you want to see in season 6? Should Walt make a return? What about Charlie and Claire?

Last night was the season finale of Greek, the somewhat-overlooked ABC Family show with the small but rabid fan base. If you have no idea what's going on in the picture above, the ZBZs competed in Songfest. There was also a battle of the bots between Rusty and Dale, which means it sounds like this show appeals to people who like both Glee and G4.
What did you think of the season finale?

Add to myYahoo! We really don't know much about what's going on with NBC's Chuck, plot-wise. We don't even know when it's coming back.
Televisionary has an interview with Yvonne Strahovski. She talks about how she's a little surprised the show is even coming back and reveals a little bit about where the show will be going after the last season finale (seems like so long ago...) where Chuck got his powers.

Add to myYahoo!Marmaduke, the comic strip about a giant-sized Great Dane and his owners, finally has a voice. Owen Wilson - who's no stranger to working with dogs, given Marley and Me - has just signed on to lend his voice to the trouble-making pooch in the half CGI, half live-action film set to hit theaters next Summer.
Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of the animated and live-person combo. It rarely works when actors are talking to cartoons (one exception being Who Framed Roger Rabbit?), but obviously I'm not the target audience here. Plus, Marmaduke does have some of my favorite people in it, including Judy Greer and Lee Pace who both play humans in the film, and hopefully the movie will offer us adults a dose of humor, too.
Do you think Wilson is a good choice to voice Marmaduke? Anyone you would've rather seen in the role?

I consider this a huge coup for NBC. After traveling through time and space in the TARDIS the past several years, it looks like Doctor Who's David Tennant is heading stateside to take the lead in Rex is Not Your Lawyer. Tennant will star as Rex, a top Chicago litigator who becomes so crippled by anxiety that he takes to coaching his clients into representing themselves.
The idea is completely madcap, but I think Tennant has just the right kind of wacky tenacity and cavalier bravado to pull off the role. In fact, it was apparently difficulty in casting the role that delayed the project until Tennant bounced in and nailed it.
It'll be interesting to see what they do about his accent. Tennant is Scottish, but adopted an "Estuary English" accent for his role as the Doctor. I think the Doctor's accent would work tremendously with the comedic role described here, but I can see the showrunners pushing him to make like Hugh Laurie (House) and so many others and go American with it.

Add to myYahoo!Though this second episode lacked some of the panache and spark of the pilot, I am still convinced it is one of the best new shows out there.
The structure is that of a procedural, with a new crime to solve, a new criminal to catch every week. Never fear, the ongoing mystery of Kate's disappearance as well as the developing bond between our heroes, Caffrey (Matthew Bomer) and Burke (Time DeKay), will make missing an episode out of the question albeit possible.
This week, a criminal went from espionage to murder, but was unfortunately overhears by a model. She claimed she'd never forget his voice, and so Caffrey convinced the FBI to hold a party, organized by Burke's lovely wife, Ellis (Tiffani Theissen), the which the ghost, as the criminal was called, would be certain to attend.
In the end, Burke helped recover the model from the ghost, who had kidnapped her, as well as keep important government secrets out of the hands of the enemy, by following Caffrey's advice - don't have a plan when they expect you to have a plan. Just go with in.The most amusing aspect of this segment was that as the ghost threatened to use his phone to blow the girl up if anyone came after her, Caffrey encouraged the FBI to jam his phone by continually calling him until he was apprehended. It worked, and the only people who died in the episode were those who had been working for the ghost in the first place.
The thing missing was all the witty repartee between Caffrey and Burke, which was not particularly in evidence. It almost felt as though we ought to have been far later in the season, with the relationship of our two heroes better established than it is at this point.
Really, the exciting part of the whole thing was that Kate left Caffrey a message the last day she was him - B O T T L E. But we'll have to wait for next week to find out exactly what she meant.
Are you still excited about this show and the next episode?
